Cooking with the microwave

Using the microwave oven is an excellent method of cooking, it is also healthy and fast.

But how does this incredible machine work?

The microwaves are produced by the magnetron, a metal tube that is inside the oven. When we turn it on, the microwaves are flung in many directions and hit the water and fat particles that are inside the food. This action produces heat that cooks the foods.

Cooking with the microwave maintains the nutritional properties of food and enhances its natural flavor.

State-of-the-art microwaves integrate numerous types of cooking: not only steam cooking and grilling, but also frying and the possibility of making delicious risottos, like this one!

Zucchini risotto

  • 350 g of rice
  • 5 zucchinis
  • 500 ml of vegetable stock
  • half an onion
  • 30 g of butter
  • Parsley
  • 30 g of grated Parmesan
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt

Peel the onion, cut it into small pieces and place them in a bowl. Grate the zucchini and put them in a bowl adding olive oil. Cover the bowl and let it cook for 3 minutes in the 650-Watt microwave. Add the rice and stock, and cook for another 16 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking. When the cooking is over, add butter and Parmesan, mix and let it rest for two minutes… and enjoy your meal!
